June 18, 2014 Greensboro, NC— The International OEKO-TEX® Association and ecVision® will participate in a panel discussion at the American Apparel and Footwear Association’s (AAFA) 3rd Annual Traceability Conference at the Marriott Downtown Waterfront in Portland OR, Wednesday, July 9 at 2:00PM. The panel event, entitled “Ensuring Transparency and Traceability in the World’s Most Complex Supply Chain”, will focus on building partnerships with downstream suppliers to improve implementation of effective quality, sustainability, and regulatory compliance programs. Panelists will include:

  • Carol Zimmerman, Director of Global Supply Chain Systems, PVH
  • Richelle Luther, Deputy General Counsel, Columbia Sportswear
  • Gary Barraco, Vice President, Industry Development, ecVision
  • Dina Dunn, U.S. Marketing and Communications, OEKO-TEX®

As consumer demands for product safety, social responsibility, and environmental performance expand, brands and retailers require reliable, timely information from their supply chain to respond successfully. The panelists will discuss systems to increase visibility and communication during the material and product development processes, third party testing and certification, and cutting-edge technology that can facilitate data sharing and create higher levels of mutual transparency and traceability.

OEKO-TEX® and ecVision recently announced their partnership to integrate OEKO-TEX® certification information into the product data available for the companies around the world who use ecVision’s cloud-based ecVision Suite® supply chain collaboration platform. With the new partnership, ecVision customers, brand, retailers, and wholesalers, have visibility to their suppliers’ OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 textile product certifications and STeP by OEKO-TEX® sustainable textile facility certifications including certificate numbers and expiration dates. Representatives from OEKO-TEX® and ecVision will attend the Traceability Event to discuss with AAFA members the details of this new alliance.
