Champion Thread Names Lee Vice President of Business Development

The fast-growing provider of thread, yarn and other textile and sewn products supplies has promoted Jim Lee

to lead its continued expansion into new products and markets.

GASTONIA, NC – DECEMBER 12, 2016 – Champion Thread Company, a leading global supplier of industrial

sewing threads, engineered yarns, and other textile and sewn products supplies, has promoted Jim Lee to the

position of Vice President of Business Development. In his expanded role, Lee is responsible for developing

growth strategies and leading the expansion of the company’s diverse textile, consumer goods, and industrial

markets.

According to Champion Thread President Matt Poovey, “We are pleased to acknowledge Jim for the

dedication he brings as a valued member of our senior management team. He has been a key contributor to

the strong growth we have experienced in recent years and we are confident that his taking on added

Prior to serving Champion Thread for 8 years as Director of Sales and Marketing, Lee enjoyed a 12-year

career in textile manufacturing where he engineered and managed processes and purchasing at Springs

Global, Galey and Lord, and LaFrance Industries. Jim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Clemson

University and Certifications in Purchasing Management (CPM), Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), and

Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
