Collectively, our all-new editorial board boasts decades’ worth of experience in shortlisting, selecting, implementing and working with Enterprise Resource Planning solutions within the retail, footwear and apparel industry. As a team and individually, we understand ERP from the foundations upwards, and each of us is invested in understanding, reporting on, and helping to shape its future, through indirect editorial and direct advisory services.
Chris Houghton, from the cotton mill town of Bolton in Lancashire UK, joins our board on the back of a varied and global career path. Originally, and at heart, Chris is a manufacturing and production engineer. Starting work at the local mill, Tootals plc during summer holidays, he attained a position locally within the defence industry supplier Hawker Siddeley Group as a technology apprentice. Having served his time with Hawker Siddeley Group and working in their international business he went on to work with IBM in a number of countries before joining By Design plc as their Global Head of Information Systems operating in Manchester, London, Hong Kong and New York. His next move was to European uniform manufacturer Simon Jersey, based near his home town in Lancashire. During his time here he became the chairman of the Style User Group for JBA System21 Style and implemented the system in the UK and Europe. JBA made Chris UK Style Manager, responsible for product sales and definition across the product range, and for local and global rollouts. More recently, Chris runs a number of businesses in the technology sector, all of which have some element of ERP implementation over a wide range of platforms and technologies.
Bill Isherwood has vast experience and a proven track record in ERP – Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics and Management Reporting. He has many years’ in-depth knowledge of business systems and their application across the Fashion Sector but can bring in experiences and examples from other business areas. He has years of valuable experience in Computer Business Systems which closely mirrors the evolution and growth of computer systems in the Fashion sector. Bill qualified as a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and holds a Master’s degree, the subject of which – the adoption of Japanese Management Practices in the West.
Prasham Kamdar is the Founder and CEO of Ptex Solutions, a leading software-consulting firm that focuses on RFA in the Indian Sub Continent. He brings more than 20 years’ worth of rich global experience across fashion, retail, manufacturing and IT industries to bear in his work for WhichERP. Prasham has a Bachelor in Clothing Engineering from University of Manchester, UK and Master in Information Systems and Technology from City University, London. Prasham began his career with Gerber Technology, a pioneer in PDM/PLM for the fashion and retail industries, under the tutelage of Mark Harrop. Over the years, he has witnessed the evolution of Enterprise systems from their nascent stage to a comprehensive solution for the Retail, Footwear and Apparel (“RFA”). He has witnessed the evolution of ERP from MRP2, a Main Frame Technology to comprehensive cross-functional integrated Enterprise Management Information System. Under the leadership of Prasham, Ptex Solutions has successfully completed ERP and PLM implementations at retailers, manufacturers and sourcing companies across the globe, including: India, US, UK, Europe, China, Singapore and Hong Kong. Prasham continues to actively partner with innovative technology companies to provide cutting-edge IT solutions to the fashion and retail industries.
Himanshu Shah is an Alumni Chartered Accountant and a certified PMP with first-hand experience of more than 20 ERP and PLM implementations. He began his career as an advisor with Datasoft Application Software (India) Limited, in 1999, where he specialised in developing financial software for the SME sector in India and the Middle East. In 2002, Himanshu joined Intentia South Asia, conducting large corporate implementations around the world and across multiple verticals. With an emphasis on fashion, he also worked in the manufacturing, food and beverage, ESM&R and healthcare industries. This cross-discplinary experience allowed him to hone his skills across multiple different products, including Infor M3. This experience in advisory services, project and program management led to Himanshu joining Ptex Solutions, where he is responsible for the implementation of fashion-focused ERP and PLM products. Himanshu has since built a reputation of surpassing expectations at every stage of his implementation projects.
Morag Ashworth a prominent industry figure, has more than 20 years’ experience – the majority of those specialising in product development and supply. Morag studied at the Scottish College of Textiles. She then began her career by accruing a broad experience base, including roles in Garment Technology, Production Management and Sourcing & Commercial Management for such prestigious brands as Van Heusen, Peter England, Umbro, Mountain Equipment, Cotton Oxford and several suppliers to Marks & Spencer. Morag also worked as Senior Product & Sourcing Manager for international lifestyle and high performance sailing brand Henri Lloyd, before establishing herself as an independent consultant and contributor to both WhichPLM & WhichERP.
